Time to explore the good, the bad and the ugly.

Well, the good news is that there seems to be a lot of good lately. In fact, life is general is pretty damn fine. Lately, there seems to be a lot to do. Last weekend, I got up early on Saturday morning and had my faulty car amplifier taken out for repair. After that, Ant and I went to Chadstone to do a little shopping, and then went to my parents place in Melton for lunch. Coming home, Ant wasn't feeling the best and a little pressed for time, so decided to stay home whilst I went out to dinner with some old high school friends of mine. This time around, apart from the usual Matt, Rein and Kirsty, I had tracked down two other old high school friends, Jamie and Derek, and so it definitely had more of a reunion feel than usual.

After that, I came home, quickly got changed and went out to the Market with Ant and Kirsty (another Kirsty) as Frankie Knuckles was DJ'ing there. Our good friends Matt and Simon were also out as well, so it was becoming more and more festive as the night went on. Frankie Knuckles played a fantastic set, but when is it actually possible for the reigning 'Godfather Of House' ever to do a bad set. I mean, come on, this guy is cited as being instrumental in the development of house music as we know it, so any time he is behind the decks in Melbourne, I want to be there. The biggest thrill came after he played though, and we found ourselves standing at the same part of the bar as him, which gave me the opportunity to go over and introduce myself to this amazing man, who turned out to be incredibly sweet and appreciative to meet people who truly knew and understood his work.

I also met Candi Stratton's husband out, and we got chatting away too, especially about the music industry (he used to be in bands I had known of) and we found some uncanny similarities in our past - he was given a job at Brother Sister by Andrew Mast and was rather surprised when I mentioned that I had actually lived with Andrew at one point.

On Sunday, Ant and I went to check out first auction; we were keen on a property on Hotham St just one block past Alma Rd, but it ended up going for a little more than I felt we could afford. However, it was very entertaining and a bit of an insight into how these things are done, giving me a bit more of a kick to get on with it. We had looked this weekend just gone at a place in the Lewis & Love building on Chapel St, although Michael (Broderick) has advised me against there due to the car park noise on the weekends. I liked the layout, although feeling it was still a little small, but far more in the price point I would look at (and I can see our new offices from the loungeroom window!) Still, as I said to Ant, we need to LOVE the place we end up getting... not LIKE it.

This weekend has been a little more low key, although we did go to see my friend Lucy perform at The Market on Friday night in her 100% Kylie show. Lucy is just an amazing talent. As I said to her, I always enjoy when people see Kylie for the first time live because they comment on how surprised they are at how talented she is. But what I love about people seeing Lucy for the first time live is that people comment on how surprised they are that they keep forgetting it isn't Kylie. She looks great. She sounds great. She just does an amazing job. I brought a few friends up to meet her after the show but she seemed so crowded by others, we got a quick hello in and small chat, but the last thing you want to do is make her feel clastrophobic. Still... I ended up drinking far more than I usually do and spent ALL of Saturday suffering from the most intense hang over i've had in a long time... but it was totally worth it.

However, and this being more so on 'the bad' that I mentioned earlier, I feel so out of shape lately, which directly links to 'the ugly' from earlier too. I need to get my arse into gear and get to gym more, so i'm hoping we can start to do that this week.

Last week in the old Artisan offices before the move - personally, cannot wait. Wish we were already in there.

Michael (boss and great friend) is overseas this week - i'm sending positive thoughts out to him and hoping that he is having a freakin' great time cause he truly deserves it. There are not too many people who are as genuine and generous as Michael, and I can honestly say that I (and anyone who experiences Michael) are truly lucky to have such an amazing and inspired man in our lives.

Night, y'all.

Thank you to all the well wishes from people regarding Ant and my recent news. I'm still not sure how, when, what... but we'll keep people in the loop.

I've finally finished studying for the time being as well, now being a certified NLP Practioner and clinical hypnotherapist. Yes, I need people to practice on so feel free to drop me a line. Still, I do find it somewhat amusing when people ask me what i've been up to of late, and look at me wondering if i'm joking or not when I tell them that i've been studying to be a hypnotherapist.

I really do feel like the courses have been worth while. I've even started to notice some leadership qualities coming out of me that I didn't realise were there - but they're appearing and feeling entirely natural and ordered. It feels like an exciting period for me lately and i'm ready now to pick up some of the projects I had been working on over the years and get back into them.
