My Jesus year... if I hear that term one more time...
Yep, i've turned the big 33. Happy birthday to me. yay.
I thought i'd take a few moments at the end of my first day back at work to update the blog. Mostly cause, being still at work, I can write a bit but won't spend too long updating it all.
What a crazy past two weeks. Christmas. Ant's birthday and New Years. And then my own birthday. All in 14 days. No wonder I often get back to work feeling like I need a break from my break.
Christmas was great although I was so tired by the time early afternoon came around. Ant and I got up early cause I thought Russell and Deb were expecting us around 8am. Turns out, when I called to say that we were running late, I woke them... and they thought more around 10am. C'est la vie.
We had a fabulous lunch at Colin and Deb's, complete with Deb's infamous beer can Chicken (yes, it is as provocative as it sounds). By the time we got back to Melton and was supposed to be heading out to a third location, Ant and I were exhausted and decided to do a quick drop in on Leanne and Sid before heading back home.
We ended up visiting Michael and Jimmy Christmas night since Michael had just returned from Japan, and they surprised us with a lovely outside table setting, which had Ant dancing around happily.
Jump forward to NYE and Ant's birthday - we had a few drinks for Ant at Heaven's Door, which was a great way to get the evening under way. Considering Ant always finds it difficult to celebrate his birthday aside from New Years, I think/hope that he really enjoyed the company and the surprise white chocolate mud cake.
We went to The Market after that... it was fun but not the most fun i've had on a New Year's Eve ever. We were planning to do recovery at The Motel the next day, but with a $50 door entry, decided against it.
My birthday... decided to do something subtle and low key this year - no clubs - no expensive dinners - just a few friends, food and drink down at the Botanical Garden's. The weather was gorgeous and it was just a really nice way to spend the day.
And now... back to work... it all goes so quickly.
A few changes this year. I actually have had some new years resolutions - something I don't normally do. I want to be more creative. I want to keep an eye on my finances and continue the work i've achieved last year. I want to keep an eye on my weight and start ensuring I walk more to work - no car unless it is needed. I want to start looking at counselling/coaching, as I feel this is an area that fascinates me. That should be enough for the time being. ;p
I've decided against doing 'the letter' this year. I probably should, but just not finding the words lately. But hey, I could change my mind overnight, and often have.
Now... time to head off home... hope 2006 brings everything you want it to bring! :)
